For the second time in the past decade, both the number of billionaires and their total assets have declined, proving that even the richest people cannot avoid the effects of economic recession and securities. According to the latest calculations by Forbes, the world has 2,153 billionaires, less than 55 billionaires compared to the previous year.

Last year there were 994 billionaires, equivalent to 46%, with a decline in assets. The total wealth of the super rich is $ 8,700 billion, $ 400 billion lower than in 2018. Up to 11%, equivalent to 247 people, was removed from the list compared to last year, the most since 2009, the peak of the global financial crisis.
Asia-Pacific is the region with the most severe decline with the number of billionaires less than 60 people compared to last year. Leading the decline in Asia is China with 49 billion USD less than last year. Europe, the Middle East and Africa are also suffering from severe billionaires decline. The situation is more positive in the Americas, which is driven by a strong recovery in Brazil along with positive signs in the US. These are the only two regions with more billionaires than last year.
Currently, there is a record of 609 billionaires in the US, including 14 people in the group of 20 richest people in the world. Jeff Bezos was once again the richest man in the world, despite divorcing his wife for more than 20 years. Bill Gates stood at No. 2.
Of course, it is impossible to mention those newly added to the list despite the predicament on a global scale. There are 195 new people joining the ranks of USD billionaires. The latest Chinese to enter the list is Colin Huang, founder of discount retail e-commerce site Pinduoduo, a company recently listed in the US in July.
Among the emerging billionaires, most notably Kylie Jenner, 21. This is also the youngest billionaire in the world.
