How to migrate a Wordpress site using softaculous - Insurance Finances

The first step – preparation

From the source server:

1. 
   

   The root domain is exactly as it is in the source server.

   
   


2. 
   

   Have FTP administrative access (username, password).

   
   


3. 
   

   Exact directory location of your WordPress installation (e.g. /public_html).

   
   

From the destination server:

1. 
   

   The new domain name that you will use on the destination server. If the domain name does not change during the migration, it will be the same as the source server.

   
   


2. 
   

   This domain must be added to any BKNS Hosting account as the main domain or as an add-on domain.

   
   

Step 2 – transfer data

1. 
   

   Log in to your host cPanel account.

   
   


2. 
   

   Once logged in, go to the “Softaculous App Installer” section and click on the WordPress icon:

   
   

   



3. You will be redirected to a new page, click “Import”:


4. Chọn “From Remote Server”:


5. Fill in the appropriate information:


6. Click Import and it will take a few minutes for the process to complete.


7. When all is done, you will have a message like the picture.

Note: After the data transfer is completed, you need to update the DNS for the domain name through the destination hosting.
