Instructions to import backup .pst file (Outlook) into Kerio email

In this article, BKNS will show you how to import email backup (Outlook) from your local computer into Kerio Connect email. The purpose of this is to upload previously backed up emails to the mail server for further use.

Preparation required:

– Microsoft Outlook 2016 or higher version (avoid generating errors)
– The email to import was created on Kerio Connect and must match the email that was backed up.
– Sign in and configure email on Outlook via IMAP protocol.
– The .pst file has been exported from Outlook.

Steps to take:

Open Outlook app, go to File –> Open & Export (first) –> Import/Export (2)

A Wizard window will appear, choose Import from another program of files (3) Then press next (4)

Next step, choose Outlook Data File (.pst) (5)then press next (6)

Next, we choose the path containing the previously created backup file (7). The Option section depends on the user's needs and chooses (allows to overwrite existing files; allows creating files with the same name; does not allow overwriting), then click Next (8)

Next step, Select the folder to import. Here, by default, we choose the total folder Outlook Data File (9) then the subdirectories and files in them will be imported. Next, select the email to import (ten)then press finish (11)

After the above steps, the import process will take place. Import time depends on the number of folders and emails in the backup. Once the import is complete, the email and folder will be displayed on the new account.

Note: After importing on Outlook is complete, it will take some time for these emails to be uploaded and stored on the server. Upload time will depend on the network speed and the number of emails of that user.

Good luck!
